Acer Aspire Laptop A150BB - 1 GB

An new Acer Laptop for under £270 is a good deal. I have been using Acer now for three years and have found them totally realible. Not the best spec around ,but for my needs as a wordprocessor and general working dog, perfect on the budget set. Two years ago laptops with this spec would heve been over twice the price new.

Will they go down even further in price next year? Who knows?

Thumbs up on this one.

A Watch - A Simple Watch for Telling the Time

I found this so refreshing I had to include it in my shopping deals site. The reason is it does exactly what a watch is meant to do - Tell the time.

So many watches nowadays do more than tell the time, it has become a competition to pack 'extras' into watches that telling the time becomes increasingly difficult. This watch is cheap and easy to read that's all most people want in a time piece. Yes the strap is plastic, but it works.

Thumbs Up at under £10 - delivered.

A Cheap Commuting Mountain Bike

Being a great fan of cycling it is only natural that anyone considering starting up cycling is a good idea. There are hundreds of cheap 'mountain' bicycles around begin mass produced now. They aren't really mountain bikes though and quite dangerous to use 'off road' but as commuting bikes that can deal with a few pot holes to contend with, they are ideal. The price is the big bonus, but think how much you save on car and public transport costs, as well as a bit of fitness.

If you want a 'real' mountain bike expect to pay at least three times the cost compared to these 'cheapo' copies.

Thumbs up on this one, but for road use only.

Note: If you change th tyres to thinner road slicks tyres it will go much faster with less effort.

The Greenest Car in the UK?

Let's get one thing straight, there is no such thing as a 'green' car. They just can't run without fuel, so the accolade given to this car is just publicity stunt as far as I am concerned. How many of these cars were sold on this basis? Thousands! And thousands are being driving falsely thinking they are helping the environment. Pity all roads weren't build down hill, then we could see some 'green cars' running without fuel.

FORD FOCUS ECONETIC

Ford Focus

Until somebody invents a car that runs on sea water or Liquorice Allsorts, the world's car makers look destined to wrestle with the big environment issue. While men in white coats beaver away behind the scenes on next generation clean propulsion technologies, models like Ford's Focus ECOnetic attempt to push the limits of what can be achieved with the good old internal combustion engine.

The trick to making car buyers take the green option is to make the green option preferable. Ford's Focus ECOnetic achieves this more effectively than most of the environmental specials that have cropped up in recent times. Aerodynamic modifications give the car a lower, sportier stance while also having the desired effect on fuel economy. The best qualities of the Focus hatch, such as its interior space and sharp handling, are retained but with 65mpg achievable on the combined cycle and 115g/km emissions, running costs are very healthy indeed.
