Musketeers of The Final Four,

It's time to finalize your plans to attend your most anticipated school-related event of the year...spend some time with your CHS classmates and friends, enjoy some good food, re-connect to some old treasured memories through the program we have planned...the list could go on forever; but, it's a must for your list of priorities. If you miss out on this one, you're missing an evening of fun packed, wholesome fun. If for no other reason, you might want to attend to defend yourself, in a fun way, of course...or maybe not?! Either way...BE THERE!!!

This past Saturday night I was at the Wooden center on campus for the True Blue Celebration, a big dinner/auction/fundraising thing for the UCLA athletic department. I went as part of the Alumni Band, as we were the entertainment for the evening. I had never been, so I decided to check it out...

The Crossland High School Class of 1978 is holding their 30th reunion on Saturday, August 16, 2008 from 8 PM - 2 AM at Martin's Crosswinds located at 7400 Greenway Center Drive in Greenbelt, MD. The cost of the dinner/dance is $78 per person by check payable to Crossland Reunion Committee and mailed c/o Theresa Hutchinson, 6519 Allentown Rd., Temple Hills, MD 20748 or by credit card using Paypal at crossland78.blogspot.com for the "Add to Cart" link and then either signing in using your own Paypal account or clicking Continue and following directions on following to their secure website.

I saw an article in the L.A. Times the other day that stated that our great alma mater had more applications from people wanting to get into our fine university than any college in the country. This makes it the 6th or 7th year in a row that this is the case, I believe.

Here are the numbers:

People applying for admission to UCLA for 2008-2009: 55,397
People offered admission: 12,579
People comining to UCLA and becoming new Bruins: 4,889

This is one of the things that confirms that UCLA is, if not the greatest, one of the greatest institutions of higher learning in America.
