Dale City, Prince William County, Virginia
July 14th, 2008A creation of real estate developer Cecil Don Hylton, Dale City is a Census designated place (CDP) in Virginia, United States. The city with an area of 15 square miles has been aptly named because of surrounding hills and dales. The place has a cosmopolitan social fabric with 12% people of German ancestry and 10% Irish and a little more than 30% people in Dale City are foreign born.
The 63,616 population of the community is a fine mix of Whites, African Americans, Asians and a bundle of other races. It is one of the model cities developed in Virginia and has all facilities and recreational activities that one would look for in a modern township. With sprawling malls and Parks, established schools and hospitals combined with the affordable real estate make this place one of the most preferred destinations in this part of the United States. The famous C.D. Lyton High School, Potomac Hospital, Potomac Mills Mall and the Andrew Leitch Park dot the landscape of the community.
Real estate developments are done by Hylton Reality and Hylton Enterprises Inc. The developments have now moved from the epicenter of the community to the periphery and undeveloped land banks are now being used to develop commercial and residential property. Each of the communities within the bigger Dale City Community has names ending with Dale. As you move along you will find names such as Ashdale, Birchdale, Cherydale, Glendale and all other different kinds of Dales. The city in itself is a great creation of modern day architecture. So, if you are on a trip to Virginia missing out on Dale City would not be a wise idea.
