John Cougar Mellencamp

John Cougar Mellencamp

Okay let's get a little more mainstream now...

I started listening to this guy before he took back the Mellencamp.
With his brand of mainstream (but never Middle of the Road) rock,
John Cougar Mellencamp has remained faithful to his Indiana farmland
roots, and just gotten better and better over the years.

He is the kind of artist that you just keep coming back to.
An all too often forgotten treasure...

Here is "Authority Song"

"Pink Houses"

"Wild Night"

Billy Bob is a really interesting guy, and so is his music.
He has worked with quite an eclectic and talented bunch
of musicians including such well respected people as
Warren Zevon and Lee Ann Womack. Enjoy!

Bruce Willis - "Bruno"

This stuff is just plain fun! I've never had much use for music
fans that took themselves and their music too seriously to enjoy
stuff like this. I mean c'mon! Let your hair down and dance!!

Joe Ely - "Me and Billy the Kid"

If you haven't yet heard anything by Joe Ely, then
you could do far worse than this song. A pretty
cool tune...

If you are looking for a CD to start off with,
"Letters From Laredo" is amazing, with Bruce
Springsteen singing backup on a few tracks.

Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band

Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band

There is probably more Bruce Springsteen content available than any other artist performing today, which is a two edged sword. There is no way to include all of it, but what is available can be culled to get the highest quality. Sometimes though a rough cut is good for historical purposes. Quite a task to go through it all. An enjoyable task though...

As of last count there are over 60 videos in this playlist, but I will keep looking for more hidden gems...

The Eagles

The Eagles

This section will also include their individual solo works. There is a ton of excellent stuff and I hope you all appreciate it as much as I do. Don Henley, Glen Frey, Joe Walsh...

As you probably know, videos tend to appear and disappear from YouTube with alarming speed, so please be patient if one of your favorites is gone for a bit.

John Hiatt

I was mostly introduced to the music of John Hiatt through WMNF, the excellent public radio station in Tampa, FL. He has worked with quite a selection of musicians such as Ry Cooder, Nick Lowe, The Neville Brothers and Sonnie Landreth. Give it all a listen. Good stuff.

The Allman Brothers Band

The Allman Brothers Band

Have been listening to The Allman Brothers since High School. A really vital stew of blues jazz country and rock. They just seem to reappear every few years and get better every time. I do miss the incredible Dobro playing of Duane. He did the guitar solo work on Layla with Derek and the Dominos that everybody thinks is Clapton. But hey, Dickey Betts ain't no slouch on guitar either so these guys are still worth a listen.

Please note that for some reason most of the Allman Brothers videos that I had linked to in YouTube disappeared recently, so be patient while I replace these.

There is so much to choose from that I am just gonna pick my favorites and let people suggest other stuff. For my money "Blood On The Tracks" was his best album, but there are a host of others at least as good. Enjoy...

Again, visit often as I will be putting more up here soon!

Joe Cocker

I have been a fan since Maddogs And Englishmen, but really got interested after seeing him in concert last year. He's still got it. See him if you get the chance. The show I saw was opened by Dave Mason, and they did an encore together of Feelin' Alright! That's the way to end a show! Not sure why but there isn't much available in the way of video content out there. Will hope to beef this section up at a later date.
