Knitting does cure all

Sitting here at work eating a sub sandwich I realized how boring it really is behind my two screens and gray walled cube.  I thought it would be nice to look for a new laptop bag on Ebay but quickly that I really needed to buy Christmas gifts, but then again how can I look if I don't know what I'm getting anyone.  My parents are taken care of... I got them a new telescope so they can do the old folk things like look at birds... but really it will be nice for them to see the planets.

So you see my dilemma here at lunch... can't really knit while eating a sandwich or can you?  Well it doesn't matter I decided to finally write something for my blog.  So I guess its your lucky day!

This last month has been a crazy whirlwind of a little good and a whole lot of bad.  Most days I wish I could just have that mundane life everyone complains about.  This single crap sucks!  The fireman and I have been off and on again more times than I have changed my hair color.  Right now is an off time but it was me this time that couldn't deal.  We're still talking but not sure what will happen or when.

We did get to go to Augusta to see Psycho DeVilles and Three Bad Jacks play and the Sky Bar.  It was filled with awesome rockabilly, PBR, dancing  and me getting really drunk.  During Three Bad Jacks I got to get up on stage and there is where the kiss happened.  Kiss?  What kiss?  well I let me tell you I kissed the lead singer.... I was going for the cheek but this annoying chic wouldn't move over... she kept trying to kiss me, so I only got his neck behind the ear.  ( should have just pushed her off the stage cause she was so trashed I'm sure she wouldn't have minded.)

From left to right... singer, me and then we have the annoying drunk girl!

OK, so what else has happened?  After a really crappy Friday night when I had the "talk" with my man I was pretty upset but on Saturday morning I woke up and was doing better... for a short very very short period of time that is... until I met Herman and his trailer hitch.  Yes, Herman decided that he wanted to park in a NON parking space so he didn't have to walk.... well that spot Herman picked was blocking half of the parking lot exit/entrance I was leaving.  I went around the big ass Pathfinder only to find out... well only to have my CAR find his huge freakin 2ft trailer hitch.  No tickets were given but if I could have given him one I would have sited him for being a real jerk to me.    Here is my sweet sweet innocent girl... she is so sad...

Poor_baby

Now she does have this to make her feel a little bit prettier...

After the "incident" where the mean guy was a jerk my sweet friend Donna came up to rescue me, we knitted, laughed and then went to watch some Roller Derby!  YAY.  I have photos but damn I don't have them at work.  I'll post them later.  When I do... they will be right here and this sentence will not be here.

So about the title of this post.  Well through all this I have started to put myself back into knitting again.  I have been such a bad knitter this year.  I guess with work, The Knit Girls, the guy and travels I just didn't make time.  Here is a hat I made for my niece... its not perfect so I might just knit her another one.... oh who knows, this is me modeling it with my crappy camera phone!

Button_hat

As soon as I finish my mom's felt bag I'll post photos!  I can't wait to get it done... some how all my size 10 needles disappeared including the ones I bought 3 days ago... so now I'm set to finish the front flap and FELT away!

I'm off to ATL this weekend to get into some girl trouble.  Three of us are going to a rockabilly show and getting a hotel room to sleep off the drunkenness.

Tootles, I guess I need to go work or something.  Stupid emails keep coming in and the NEW MESSAGE alert is messing with my typing!

How many chapters are there???

Chapter 666

I'll put out your fire, baby!

Last weekend ended yet another chapter in the Life and Chaos of Madam Knit Girl... yes I was dumped.  So how many times do I need to go through this to realize what kind of guy NOT to go for?  Should I turn into a shallow bitch and pick men for money or status?  Should I turn into a door mat and pick men based on them controlling me?  WHAT???!!!  Oh hell it doesn't matter it will work out when it is suppose to.  I will one day find that guy that wants to love me with all my faults and issues.  One good thing is I'm ok being alone, its easy for me.

The suckie thing, this guy was so good to me and I loved the butthead.  I think his life just became to much for him and I got the raw end of the deal.  So much for promises!

I can say I do have the breakup routine down, which includes but not limited to:

deleting phone number - check

clearing text messages - check

deleting email and email addresses - check

changing myspace status BACK to single - check

making "get mad not sad" playlist for IPod - check

hiding/deleting all photos of said relationship on the computer - I hid them, so check

getting a new tattoo - fuck this one hasn't been checked... I guess it is time to plan. I'm going to be completely covered by the time I die.  (I don't think I even posted my new bows yet - note to self)

Yarn_thief_by_jaxraven

So what will this next chapter be named?  I'm kind of scared to ask.  So I guess we will just have to wait and see... after the last few years I'm actually not looking forward to more crap but hey the next part of my life just might be the best.  Right? Good thing will come right?

If you know me you know that music basically rules my world. AND as much as I hate Savannah sometimes cool shit does happen here... Reverend Horton Heat is going to actually playing on October 28th!  I'm really wondering why he picked here?  Could there actually be that many Reverend fans in this town?  If so I wanna meet them.  Well I'm here and I'm going!  I saw him in like 1992 with Alien Sex Fiend on Halloween and it was the bomb.  Even though I ended up getting into a pushing fight with a guy covered in condoms and almost got kicked out.

I've been waiting patiently for my friend Leigh to send me my little present.  She got an autographed print from Tyson McAdoo.  If you don't know his stuff you really need to check it out.  I'm sure you've seen it and if you haven't then where the hell have you been?  He draws these inked Rockabilly girls which are just so freakin hot!

In the knitting world not much has been going on.... after the "break-up" or what I like to call it "getting dumped on my ass AGAIN" I have been in a bit of a not wanting to do anything constuctive mood.  However when it comes to the Knit Girls my girls just won't let me rest.  We are currently talking about a knitting pattern book.  Patterns for The Knit Girl.  We have some cute little title but I'm at work and I can't remember anything right now.  So if you want to help either with submitting a pattern or test knitting just email me and let me know.

I do want to give a shout out to our Ravalry Knit Girl Olympic team!  YAY Team!!!! Go Go Go!  Yes I'm a bitch and didn't sign up... oh spank me!

Coming soon - Truth and Dare Knit Girl Style... which translates innocently to DARE KG Style!

Happy Spankings!!!!

All I can say is...

Devil Doll and Denver was AWESOME!  I really think I had more fun in that one weekend than I have in a very very very long time... actually I can't remember!

Thursday night the BF got over to my humble home where he found me in a bad bad tired ass mood... I'm sure he was like "fucking great what have I gotten myself into!"  After whining to him about how crappy my day was we ate and finally got a little sleep because yes we had to be at the airport at 5am!  I'm such a bad morning person which something else he found out about me... lol!

The flight actually wasn't to bad but I will never ever go to Kansas City airport again!  That has to be the dumbest most messed up place in the country!  We actually had to leave the airport to go to another terminal area where we had to go through security AGAIN.  Lets just say I was getting tired of showing my sissors and having them measure the stupid things... (note to self: leave the damn sissors at HOME).

We checked in the hotel... OMG... I'm use to the Motel 6 down the street in the hood.  21st floor at the Hyatt downtown with the view of the mountains. (I'll post photos when I get home) I felt like such a little princess!  Friday night we walked around and found this great little retro lounge and I just couldn't help drink just enough to get my big mouth just a flapping.  Again, I'm going with poor guy.

Saturday we headed to the Alpaca Extravaganza, which took him forever to find because someone like ME forgot to get the address, location or even the name or the convention center.  And again we need to feel sorry for the BF!  So, here I am with the Alpaca Greeter or I like to call him my other boyfriend.  See I'm even wearting my Knit Girl shirt.... woo hoo supporting my girls!

Me_and_the_alpaca_greeter

After subjecting the BF to way to much knitting stuff we went over to the tattoo convention and we both agreed sadly on his part that the Alpaca thing was way better!

Later that night we finally made it to Benders after the cab ride from HELL... Devil Doll could not have been any better!  She was actually so much more than I was expecting.  One of the girls there took our picture... I can't tell you how fucking happy I am in this photo!

Dart_and_me

I have other photos but damn it I'm at work and all the other stuff is at home.  I just never find the time to sit down and write something.

The next trip is up to ATL for him to meet the parents and best friend Wendy.  We are going to see Sweeney Todd, the broadway musical at the Fox!  Could that be any cooler.  Poor BF doesn't like gore so he will be hating the fact I'm going to pretend to slash his throat all night... yes I already figured out what to do to annoy him! "SLASH!!!!"

It is so Pastie Round #2!

Right now in the Knit Girl group on Ravelry we have started the Pasties Swap again!  I think there is close to 70 girls right now... not sure on the number because the bestest organizer Brittany is taking care of the details.  I went out and got the yarn on Saturday... I think I've narrowed down to the two patterns I want to do.  I'm making up mine own so we will see how they turn out.

We also have our new girl Chloe Sparkle (her real name I might add) to add to The Knit Girl gang.  She is one awesome chick and when I can make it to CA she is so going to teach me to spin fire!  How hot is that?

Until next time....

smooches,

The Madam

April 30, 2008

Its been 62 days since my last post....

Now do I get a spanking?  Knittygirlie where are you when I need one?

I'm going to try to write this while eating the most gawd-damn hot pizza!  Who the hell puts jalapenos peppers on a pizza?  OK, I'm sure a bunch, but damn- it they are freakin HOT!

You know it is really amazing all the changes in a person's life that can happen in only two months.

First we will hit the Ravelry group front!  Man that group has got to be one of the best group of girls and boys ever!  It is amazing how we can go from swapping pasties, modeling them, to helping one of our beloved members out in a crisis.  The group has been busy knitting & crocheting squares for a comfort afghan her.  Lori, you are in all our hearts and minds during her time of pain and sadness. We love you sweet Indulgence.

Let me go ahead and wipe the tears away and try to go on....

FYI: There is now a Knit Girl Blog for any updates and going on in that other world of mine

What a life of a Knit Girl

So because I had way to much drama in my life and so I got rid of all the crappy people... ones that put me down for the stuff I choose to do and for who I am.  I will not change because it might offend someone or someone might see my pastie covered boobies.  So no more letting others control any part of my life whither it is ex-boyfriends, friends or whoever....  Amazingly once I decided all this within a week I met the most wonderful guy, I swear, in the world.  Not to mention he is a fireman, how totally hot is that??? Gets me going that is for SURE!

Myspacegraphicsbumperstickers09_3

I'm really not sure what I have done to deserve to have someone care so much about me.  I guess waiting these few years for the "right" guy has really paid off.  But, I'm not going to get to deep into it with you guys just because there are some people I just would rather not know about my comings and goings but lets just say he spoils me with kindness and thinks the world of me... not sure if I have ever had that in life before... he has put me on cloud nine!  Life is a crazy thing once you have completely given up it throws you something you just weren't expecting.

On Friday my new guy told me that we are going on a trip this weekend.... get this, we are going to Denver to see my favorite singer Devil Doll.  He has booked everything and has it all planned for ME!  Also, Molly that is running for May Knit Girl lives in Denver so I asked the BF if we could stop in the yarn store she works at... he said we could go anywhere I wanted to go!  How amazing is he to let me go to a yarn store... poor guy, doesn't know what he is in for!

Then the next weekend I head up to spend a weekend with my best friend in her boat while the boys fish... ok, way to many vacations I will never get anything done at home.

Other than that my parents came down for a weekend and we actually had a freakin great time!  I can't even believe I'm even typing that... but they are doing so great and somehow they have turned into these crazy funny people!  My dad even wore a shirt that said "Scars are just like Tattoos but with better stories".   Mom said he was dying to wear it!!!  What goofballs.

Work... well same ol same ol but it looks like I won't be moving back to ATL anytime soon so I guess I need to just start to enjoy what I do!  My plan is to go back to school in September and get my Aeronatical Technical Management degree.   Then I guess I will be "officially" smart!!!!

Crap on to my not-so-much-knitting life... I've been such a bad knitter girl!  Except for the squares on the comfort afghan and pasties I've really not done to much.  I had a million stitches drop from my intolerable cruelty skirt when the cable on the circulars came unscrewed.  I think that frustrated me so much that I just can't look at it for a little while, but since they yarn cost me a boat load so I really need to get it going again... seems like a good project for the plane ride.

No time to post picture this time but I'll get some in Denver... woo hoo...

So Hardcore!

Wow... it has been a long ass month for me.  Tonight I'm sitting here trying to stay positive about turning the big 35 tomorrow.  Its like I only have a few hours left until I become old... I know old is only in you head but every year I go through the same thing.  This is why my ex-husband always waits until a week after my birthday to call so he doesn't have to hear me cry.  Yes I cry... a lot!
Between the birthday, me getting pissed off at work and being freakin sick I think a mental breakdown almost happened on Thursday.  So do you feel sorry for me yet?  OK, since that is done off to better stuff.

Yes I'm feeling completely like a hardcore knitter right now.  After 2.5 hours of some well wanted pain I now have been marked by the "Knit Girl" fairy!  Here she is on the first day.... it looks pretty rough right now since it is flaking like crazy!
