3 common Project Management mythologies

Posted by : project

Project Management

Depending on the nature of IT project managers adopt three popular approaches for their companies.

1.      Regardless of project duration and technology involvement, it works basing on traditional approach of project management.

2.      Extreme Programming / XP – The project management approach of Extreme Programming, sometimes, also called XP (Don’t get confused with the Windows operating system, XP). Four iterative aspects called planning, coding, design and testing are done in this approach involving users, programmers and customers. This method is specifically designed for the development of software.

3.      Yet another popular mode is scrum; this term is widely used in the game rugby. This approach also uses the same iterations like XP – planning, executing, coding and finally, testing. Scrum uses its own terminology of project management and observes some rigid practices like meeting deadlines, wip documentation, milestone-hitting etc.
