Democrats Learning the Media Cuts Both Ways

Senator Barrack Obama while running for President told the UAW and Detroit that he would do everything in his power to help them. Now the Big 3 along with their unions, finally agree on something; they want a bailout. But where is President-Elect Barrack Obama now? Well, he is voting "present" and telling the UAW and Automakers that he is working on it with his advisors, but that he is not the President yet, so there is nothing he can do.

Actually, he may be correct this time, there really is nothing he can do, as 76% of all Americans do not want to bailout the automakers, even though the UAW purports that 3-4 million jobs could be lost, the 400,000 from the Big Three and all the feeder jobs and industries, vendors and support company lay-offs too.

One interesting side note is that the Democrats were able to take over the House and Senate thanks to the media, but that cuts both ways. Having given power to the media, now our fourth branch of government, the Democrats cannot go against the media or they will have a complete reversal of their good fortune.

Being elected thanks to the polling numbers must have been wonderful and allowing the mass media to incite the mob in voting a certain way was grand, but now, well now it's a completely different story you see. Now the polls show that folks do not want a GM, Chrysler and/or Ford bailout and thus, the Democrats cannot do anything. Indeed, their own party cannot even agree on what to do now.

No Democrat wants to take the political heat against the wishes of the voters. Amazing actually, "live by the media, die by the media," one might say? So, what does this say about Obama's promise? Well, right now he is hanging low, trying not to get in the way of things, just voting "present" but soon, very soon, he will actually have to make a statement and vote or veto with his pen. That my friends is when the real fun will indeed begin.

Will the Democrats be Forced to Bust the Unions after all their political rhetoric?

Remaking America in New Orleans' Image

Mention Hurricane Katrina and the first thoughts evoked in many peoples minds will be how the government failed the people; more specifically, how President Bush failed them. They will not think first of the warnings issued by government at all levels, nor will they recall their own failure to heed those warnings. Why? The answer is simple; they heard the warnings and waited for their instructions from their "leaders". The instructions were clear, however, and they were to get out of the city fast, but most of the inhabitants of New Orleans were so accustomed to being cared for on every level that they sat back and waited for someone, anyone from the government, to come for them.

New Orleans was but a spec on the landscape of the entire nation, and was not anything more than an anomaly at the time. Other Gulf Coast cities dealt with the ravages of Katrina fairly well and have since moved forward, while many of the citizens of New Orleans still languish in the aftermath of the storm, still waiting for help. Still dependent on the government.

Apply this mentality to the nation as a whole, as we are beginning to witness through the financial crises that have befallen us, coupled with the mantra of our new president-elect, and we have the makings of a gigantic New Orleans. Everyone is now demanding a helping hand from the very people who caused this financial storm, unlike the culpability of Katrina which lay largely in the hands of God and, to a much lesser degree, Ray Nagin and Kathleen Blanco.

Bear in mind that Nagin was re-elected by the people he damaged so, while Blanco has been supplanted. But the people of the U.S. just elected Barack Obama, who has been promoting an agenda bearing a striking resemblance to the atmosphere that created the havoc in New Orleans, that being, that government will take care of everything. Personal responsibility is being vilified as we speak as a cruel outlook on the "misfortunes" of others, while it is all of us who stand to lose in this economic meltdown.

All of us dream of a protective blanket and a world in which we have no cares, but we are all born to fly free, and the constraints of protection and security are alien to us, in the end. Even birds nudge their hatchlings out of the nest. A prison cell is the most secure place in the world, particularly an American cell, where the incarcerated has nothing for which to want; except freedom.

I do not fret over the "red state" areas of the country save for one reason; it is those people who will be forced to deal with the marching zombies exiting the large cities when the experiment of re-engineering America fails. When people realize that they have traded their souls for the comfort of an omnipotent government, only to be sadly disappointed in the end, they may well end up as trophies on a dark-wood panelled den in flyover country.

The Cost of Democracy
Friday, November 21, 2008, 03:07 AM - General

The quintessential element of democracy is that "The People" have to accept the cost of it, the essence of which is their willingness to carry out their 'citizen responsibility.' That means Americans actually have to do something, not just wait for the corruption of special interests to mortgage their future.

George Pataki, former Governor of the state of New York, gave us all of the wisdom we need to understand and solve the problem when he said, "When government takes responsibility for people, then people no longer take responsibility for themselves." Somebody should find a way to etch that on every car bumper in America. Freedom and dependency are unable to coexist. That you might choose responsibility over dependency is the politician's, the legal system's and the main stream media's greatest threat. The essence of government spirit is to keep us united under a common bond, whatever [fear] that may be. And let's face it, we are so easy to unite [scare].

In the beginning of the end, the populous tends to believe that they can hire mercenaries for their duties. That is what is happening to America right now. Every great civilization from time immemorial has eventually violated this truth and in return their government was lost to the ages.

Americans have become apathetic to an ever more intrusive form of government and, most ironically, less inclined to take up their Citizen Responsibility. Americans face a host of serious issues, many of which they treat with a herd mentality, protected by the drove grazing preoccupies them, until they sense the siren call of eminent danger. And, like the wildebeest on the Serengeti even though others regularly perish, as long as it is not them they go back to grazing.

America is desperately trying to move on from the Bush presidency and that Barack Obama has offered that "Dream". The recent stock market debacle, Lehman Brothers, the Fannie and Freddie crash, AIG and the $700 billion Wall Street bailout has rightfully enraged Middle America. The U.S. financial system and the world financial markets are so stressed right now that it threatens the very social fabric of our nation, one that our fathers and their forefathers have already fought and died for. Will we keep our American entrepreneurial spirit, which we have bragged about and paraded before the world for 200 years, or will we give way to a new form of socialism because we have hit a speed bump?

This is no reason to go off the deep end, throwing away our ideological sense of America in order to remove ourselves. Barack Obama is assembling his dream team, and the liberal media have already gone out to celebrate... just a minute... not so fast... history abounds with examples of people wanting out of a bad situation and then being taken to worse. Most people will reject these words, but I can't help myself from writing them. This is the "herd instinct" in human nature. It is in our psychic that under threats we cannot perceive [or manage] we want to join the socialist masses. Socialism is the very essence of government, of security, of the 'covenant of the fence', however we need to know where we are running... before we run over a cliff. Most people stranded on an island-of-hell don't ask many questions when someone throws them a lifeline of hope. Maybe they should ask, but most people don't.

Socialist regimes throughout history have promised hope and change. I'm surprised, even dumfounded, that many Americans are acting blinded by speeches without details, the evidence for which is that they are not asking questions and demanding answers. The peoples yearning for betterment cannot override our common sense. Most important, people want change because they are frustrated by the relentless liberal media attacks on America's foundation. They want change... for change's sake.

Americans cannot throw our constitutional heritage out the window for the promise of hope. The America we have known for over 200 years is an uplifting struggle for fairness, equality and a uniquely American idealism. It's not perfect, but let's not mess it up now.

The Promise of Hope Broken - The Hearts of Millions Cast Aside

The Glorious Election of President Barrack Hussein Obama (in Arabic Hussein = Good, Small, Handsome One) was filled with promises of hope and prosperity for 100s of millions of Americans, but one has to ask how on Earth can anyone fulfill those shoes?

After all, during this well financed election run (700 Million Dollars), the Obama campaign told everyone that the economy was terrible and this further drove down consumer confidence and now the US middle class has stopped spending. This has sent shock waves across the globe.

When the US Middle Class consumer stops spending this hurts all our trading partners. The great economic engine, known as the US consumer holds up the rest of the world, because the US buys from all over the world, more than even the world buys from us and we have the trade deficits to prove it too.

If one considers this point, then one could say that the campaign committee to elect President Obama has worsened the problems and is part of the cause of the issues that Obama promises to fix? Interestingly enough, things appear to be getting worse before Obama takes office.

What on Earth are all these people going to do, losing their jobs, and their homes? Until the American Consumer starts spending again and has confidence in the economy once more, things really cannot recover. No word yet from Obama on exactly how he is going to get this economy going again, and maybe it's just as well, because there is not a lot he personally can do about it anyway. This has been my opinion.
