...formed in 1999. This is the band that never breaks up: The cut and paste digital derivative of musique concrete, melodic memory, splintery soft glitches, anxious dada, dirty indie, beautytronics. Lucky dragons is Luke Fischbeck, who edits it like a magazine to make sure it stays going. There are so many others to share the light, though: singing, drawing, dancing, touching, plucking and spinning or sewing with sound files or just listening really well. We are a diy sound branding and sound breaking collective. Records are densely knit collages of ecstatic language, folk melodies, and AM radio rave ups. Live shows are convulsive celebrations of sounds from hard drives and gentle skin contact. Our aesthetic is handmade. Contributing members currently live in Providence RI, Philadelphia PA, coastal Southern California and New York City.

Thanksgiving - Now It's All Over Like the Birds
Thanksgiving is the work of Pacific Northwest musician Adrian Orange who since his teen years has been recording and performing within the Phil Elverum, Kyle Field, Calvin Johnson social circle. His voice, a delicate unsure weeping call, sings existential songs which, on later albums, emphasize percussion. Earlier works emphasized simple guitar and (sometimes goofy) songwriting.
Adrian co-founded Marriage Records, which presses albums and prints books by Thanksgiving, YACHT, Lucky Dragons, White Rainbow, Watery Graves, Privacy, Adrian Orange, A John Henry Memorial, and other Portland artists.
A native of Portland, OR, released his first record, “We Could Be Each Other’s Evidence” on Vit! Vit! Records, in 2002 at age 16

Mount Eerie with Julie Doiron & Fred Squire - Lost Wisdom

Mount Eerie represents the latest evolution of Phil Elverum's musical vision. Formerly known as The Microphones, Phil changed his project's name to Mount Eerie while maintaining his subtle, lo-fi, and lyrically dense fuzz-folk aesthetic.
Elverum explained this change in an 2003 interview with Discoder, asserting that "Mount Eerie is a new project. The Microphones was completed, or at least at a good stopping point. I did it because I am ready for new things. I am new."

Aesop Rock - Music for Earthworms

Aesop Rock (born Ian Matthias Bavitz on 1976-05-11) is an American hip hop artist/Producer. He was in the forefront of the new wave of underground acts that emerged during the late 1990s/early 2000s. He is signed to El-P's Definitive Jux label.
Aesop's style blends a varying tone and delivery with lyrics that contain intricate sequences of widely varying imagery, metaphors, puns, absurdism, and pop culture references, while including the occasional touchstones of traditional hip hop storytelling and self-promotion. As a result of this unorthodox style, Aesop has become a controversial rapper among hip hop enthusiasts.

Quicksilver Messenger Service - Just For Love

Of all the bands that came out of the San Francisco area during the late 60s, Quicksilver Messenger Service typified the style, attitude and sound of that era. Dogged by early personnel changes, the original band in 1964 comprised of vocalist Dino Valenti, guitarist John Cipollina, David Freiberg on bass and vocals, Jim Murray on vocals and harmonica, and drummer Casey Sonoban. Alexander ‘Skip’ Spence also spent a brief time with the band, before being whisked off to join the Jefferson Airplane as their drummer.

The Microphones - Moon Moon 7"

The Microphones is the name of a project that Anacortes, WA's Phil Elverum has headed since the late 90s. Its sound is best described as lo-fi "fuzz folk," ranging from drum-crashing, bass-thrashing sonic freakouts, strummy classical guitar love songs, angelic vocal choirs, and almost-whispered vocals over harmoniums and bell kits. In 2004, Elverum abandoned the "Microphones" name to begin recording as Mount Eerie.

Woods Family Creeps - S/T

The newest incarnation of New York City’s wondrous Woods, as the trio of Jeremy Earl, Jarvis Taveniere, and G. Lucas Crane. It’s for sure the finest yet from these folks. Lysergic & infectiously bent acid folk mashed into [album]faust IV[/album] style electronically dosed pop grooving, all awash in odd studio effects, motorik percussion, cracked fuzz, unique vocal gush, twisted lyrics, and burning psychedelic jams. Plus, enough sweet hooks to get your next freak out party moving right. Hell yes, its a wicked one.

Major Organ and the Adding Machine - S/T

Major Organ and the Adding Machine was originally thought to be a side-project of Jeff Mangum and Julian Koster (both of Neutral Milk Hotel).
But the project has grown to include the Elephant Six Orchestra and many others. In March 2001, a CD entitled Major Organ and the Adding Machine was released on Orange Twin Records.
While the mysterious Major Organ is the apparent leader of this project, some of the contributors were Kevin Barnes (of Montreal), Jeff Mangum (Neutral Milk Hotel), Julian Koster ( (Elf Power).
