May 2007

Hi,

As usual, Demonz has been very busy with several current projects and will also be going live with some new websites very soon. Again, a couple of the cooler projects have to be kept confidential but we will let you know about them towards the end of the month.

Btw, if you having trouble seeing this newsletter properly, you can access the online version at http://www.demonzmedia.com/newsletters/Issue2007May/index.html.

Top Secret Projects: Enizone

We know you’ve all been waiting to hear about our top secret project. Well the secret is out. Demonz media is proud to introduce you to Enizone. Enizone allows users unique ways of mixing media, text and web feeds online.

Built on the Enikos platform (which was developed, funnily enough, by Enikos at the University of Wollongong), Enizone does all the hard work required for media, text & web feed mash–ups behind the scenes.

They approached Demonz to develop the user interface, visuals and branding for Enizone. The product has already received a huge amount of interest from major media players and is set to revolutionise the way we look at the web. Although the Enizone website is at beta stage and is not yet available to the public, a public beta would be available soon! So stay tuned...to Enizone – and those who wish to test drive can register for beta testing.

Seeing a bit of CeBIT

The CeBIT circus rolled into town last month.

CeBIT is the world’s largest IT expo and a virtual showcase of the latest technologies and cutting edge IT concepts. So demonz took a bit of time off our busy schedule to pop in and have a look at CeBIT, as well as visit a couple of our exhibiting clients: MHelp and Enizone. So, what does a picture of commuting people have to do with CeBIT? Absolutely nothing.

What’s hot...Silverlight
Microsoft vs Adobe

Another battle is about to begin, this time between Adobe Flash and Microsoft Silverlight. Microsoft Silverlight is Microsoft's answer to Flash: animations, videos, online games, web applications or basically any form of application that tries to deliver a more thorough online experience with very high quality audio, video, text, animations or motion.

What we have seen so far looks very promising. Silverlight is still in the beta & alpha stages but will be available soon. It will be present by default on Vista machines. XP users will have to download it, much like how you would install the Adobe Flash plug–in.

If you are interested in more information, you can visit the the Silverlight website. If you want to see examples, try these: Chess, Airline Booking, Sprawl (simple online game), a piano, a media library and more.

Web site additions

There have also been a few additions to the demonz media website.

They include:

Most of this stuff requires a broadband connection... but feel free to have a look.
