Best Driving Tune

I love listening to music while driving. Music helps me soothe and make me more relaxed and help me to fell calmer. Singing while driving stimulates not only the mind but also the body produces heightened alertness and reduced fatigue. And for me, my best driving tune is Don't cha wanna ride by Joss Stone.

Deadbolt

I really love "Deadbolt" by Thrice.  Sounds like a good fast-paced driving type of song. 

Deadbolt is the rather vivid description of a recurring dream, it seems. The Narrator is falling in and out of sleep at the wheel, and every time he closes his eyes he's at the same doorway. A girl offers him water, and he knows he shouldn't, but he does anyways. His true love tells him to stop, but he just can't, and later regrets it, to probably just go through the same dream again..

Tokyo Drift

Tokyo Drift was a good song and a good film. Good plot line (if you disagree, then you're a "Too much to think" film-goers, stay with chick-flicks then). Good action. And of course, cool cars. Film director, Justin Lin did a great job getting his vision to film. The mounted camera on a super-fast go-cart gave some spectacular shots…

The Sun Screen Song


On June 1, 1997, a column written by staffwriter Mary Schmich, entitled “Advice, Like Youth, Probably Just Wasted On the Young,” was published in the Chicago Tribune. Who would ever think that because of a controversy regarding its originality, it caught Australian film director Baz Luhrmann’s attention who then bought the rights to the words and turned it into a song -- a remix of Quindon Tarver’s Everybody’s Free (To Feel Good) and Australian actor Lee Perry reading Schmich’s speech. If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it. The long-term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists, whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience. I will dispense this advice now.

Floss.

Don't waste your time on jealousy. Sometimes you're ahead, sometimes you're behind. The race is long and, in the end, it's only with yourself.

Remember compliments you receive. Forget the insults. If you succeed in doing this, tell me how.

Keep your old love letters. Throw away your old bank statements.

Stretch.

Don't feel guilty if you don't know what you want to do with your life. The most interesting people I know didn't know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives. Some of the most interesting 40-year-olds I know still don't.

Get plenty of calcium. Be kind to your knees. You'll miss them when they're gone.

Maybe you'll marry, maybe you won't. Maybe you'll have children, maybe you won't. Maybe you'll divorce at 40, maybe you'll dance the funky chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary. Whatever you do, don't congratulate yourself too much, or berate yourself either. Your choices are half chance. So are everybody else's.

Enjoy your body. Use it every way you can. Don't be afraid of it or of what other people think of it. It's the greatest instrument you'll ever own.

Dance, even if you have nowhere to do it but your living room.

Read the directions, even if you don't follow them.

Do not read beauty magazines. They will only make you feel ugly.

Get to know your parents. You never know when they'll be gone for good. Be nice to your siblings. They're your best
link to your past and the people most likely to stick with you in the future.

Understand that friends come and go, but with a precious few you should hold on. Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and lifestyle, because the older you get, the more you need the people who knew you when you were young.

Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard. Live in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft.

Travel.

Accept certain inalienable truths: Prices will rise. Politicians will philander. You, too, will get old. And when you do, you'll fantasize that when you were young, prices were reasonable, politicians were noble and children respected their elders.

Respect your elders.

Don't expect anyone else to support you. Maybe you have a trust fund. Maybe you'll have a wealthy spouse. But you never know when either one might run out.

Don't mess too much with your hair or by the time you're 40 it will look 85.

Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia. Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

But trust me on the sunscreen.

Now that song has made the British win the Grammy Song of the Year award for 2008. This song is actually about her real life for she is known to have been an addict with her friends and family going public just so as to be able to plead that Amy go to rehab to cure her addictions.

At 24 years old, Amy already has two albums out with Rehab being the first single in her second one. She sings with a “brassy vocal style against a jazzy blues backdrop” reported Reuters. Gossip columns and celebrity news sites were so full of Amy’s stints partying and sniffing cocaine.

This song has got to be one of the best songs about real life singers I’ve heard. I first heard it when I was at this shop downtown getting the headlight covers I ordered. Anyhow, I do hope she gets well so she could continue to share her talent with the music industry.

Beyond Life’s Paradox


Life, they say, is the biggest paradox on earth. The first time I heard this song from Irish singer and composer Damien Rice, for some strange reason, I found myself stuck on my car seat, careless of my seatbelt, pondering on certain truths which his music implies. He earned my trust. Music is this man’s life and his music is a reflection of how beautiful a person can be once he acknowledged his passion - and be ready to live, grow and die for it. Don’t read... The power of music reflects deep emotions and reality itself. It feeds the senses like what oxygen sensors do to a car. The Greatest Thing You’ll Ever Know


“Love is more of becoming the right person than finding the right one.”

I claim those words whenever this month arrives and I find myself alone, driving my car towards home on Valentine’s Day. Well, just to be honest, that day doesn’t excite me a lot. Except for the fact that at least once in a year, the entire world is united in celebrating love’s meaning and value.
