Hey! I'll also like to hear your comment, don't leave without dropping them on me

new blogger inline commentsThis is no longer news and if you are not aware of this yet, then you better relocate from the cave you have been living "if you don't want to be a "PRIMITIVE" in this age; thing are happening around you.....lol. Hey! don't mind my silly ol' mouth or is it fingers I should say.

"Seriously now" If you have ever tried to make a comment on a blogger blog before now, you will know how annoying it can be. With the old and archaic blogger comments system, where you will be forced to redirect to another page which automatically open in a new window immediately you click the comment link to make a comment on a blog post. Worst still, the comments already post to a blog post doesn't show blow the post, you will still have to go through the annoying new page window redirection to view those comments.

For a time now this has been a major obstacle to comment posting on bloggger blogs which was a big concern and disadvantage to bloggers like us using the blogger platform as compared with wordpress user.

Well, that is now history with the introduction of the "New Blogger Inline Comment" That allow you to embed the comment form below your blog post "where it should be" and also comments posted to your post will also be displayed right under your blog post "where they should actually have been". Although, getting it working on your blog still requires some advance customization but you can still get it up without much headache. When I say advance "I mean you will have to edit the CSS/HMTL of you blog Template"

Please know that if you are a blogger "using blogger" that cherish the feedbacks of your blog readers "like me" this is not an option it's a must. Trust me I don't sit in the dark when it comes to things that enhance my blog and give my readers a better experience "I configured it on this blog as soon as I got to know about it".

Then, I started seeing more comments on this blog and I immediately add a recent comment widget to show it off. Most blogger users are yet to update this feature on there blog and I hope you are not one of them, if you are; you better take decision right away cause you are missing out. I read a review of this blog few weeks ago and one of the outstanding thing the review said about this blog was the easy of making comment, which goes to show that blog reader really appreciate it more when you make it as easy as possible for them to share their opinion on your posts.

Initially, I wanted to write a step by step guide on how to configure this feature but I thought why go through that again since there are already great post from other blogs that can take you by the hand and walk you through the process; easy and steady. And with that I'll hand you over to some of them that I have gone through and find easy enough for you to go through without any problem:

How To Configure New Comment
How to add a comment form beneath your blog posts

Would like to hear your feedback as regards this and if this inspired you to to configure this feature on you blog, let me know; I'll go to your blog immediately and help you launch it with a comment.

Cheers!

Sounds familiar? Don't worry I know why! It's means you already know about Entrecard. But wait, this is not another entrecard project, it's just in the name.

This is fresh, this is different and like you know; blogging and bloggers are changing the ways activities are now been conducted on the Internet all around the world, hence it's save to say that any great invention that is related to blogging and bloggers is bound to blow the internet arena up in flames. Those who foresaw what has become of Digg today will pretty much be proud of themselves now, I'm sure. And those who were wise enough to have hop on the wagon then would have even more great things to say today.

Well then, another of such opportunity is calling at your door step now with the advent of EntreView. I can hear you saying; What is EntreView again? Don't be skeptic please!

Entreview is a Social News Story site for blog posts where blog readers can promote their favourite blog post or bloggers themselves can promote their blog post. Every submitted blog post are rated by other members in terms of vote. The story with the highest votes is the one that make it to the entreview homepage as featured story. As you can see the idea is almost the same with that which is prevalent with every other Social Bookmarking/Social News Story site on the internet but one unique thing is that entreview is design entire and only for blog posts, this is a totally new concept, which I believe will really be a great success, now and in the immediate future.

Right now, the site is still in it's infant stages and I think this is the right time for you to join and start submitting your favourite blog posts many of which, of course is your own blog posts. Mind you, if you don't want to be the one to submit your own blog post you could leave that to your blog reader while you submit post from other blogs that you find interesting. The only negative aspect of this is that there is a great chance that most of your blog reader are not yet aware of this site, so you might want to do a post to introduced them to the site so they might be able to submit their favourite of blog posts.

EntreView is also currently running a contest/promo/bonanza "whatever name you want to call it" What I just want to tell you that you stand a solid chance of winning 1000ec (enrecard credits) every week and how to qualify for the draw? Just submit a minimum of four blog posts in a week and you will be entered into the drawing. Each week, the user with the most post wins! Simple, don't you think? You get more exposure for your blog post and at the same time stand a chance to win 1000ec. You and me know that 1000ec would get your quite some good deal of advert purchasing power in the entrecard arena which is a great addon for entreview.

Now, let me tell you my little experience; entreview has a friendly and very easy user interface and the submission system is relatively easy, you just input the url of the blog post you want to submit and entreview will detect the post, then input the title for you automatically, with the option to change it and type some description but one great thing about this, is the speed of the submission process. Yesterday, while trying to submit my blog post, I decide to also do some submission to Digg. And before I know what was happening I have submitted far above 20 of my blog post to entreview while still battling with one or two submission at Digg. I bet you get the message, don't you?

Hey! I better stop now because I can go on and on with the other great features of entreview, I hand you over to the entreview let it do that remaining talking by itself. Just Go Here to Join

Finally, when you please come back and tell me your view and experience they are much appreciate, or a question? You are welcome.

All the best

Cheers!

In my ealier post; "the beautiful world of entrecard" I introduced you to Entrecard with it's basics and benefits, which as you have discovered is one of a kind the world of blogging.

By the way, you must have notice that of recent most of my post have revolved around "TRAFFIC" and "SEO; the essense of which is still traffic". I read one review of this blog few weeks ago and I was amazed at how narrow minded the reviewer was. I'm pretty much aware of the type of contents (the make quick money schemes) some visitors to this blog would have been expecting, but then maybe what they failed to understand is that this blog is in the "internet marketing" niche and not "make quick money" and Internet Marketing without Traffic equal "No Marketing".

Sorry about the distraction "it's one of those things, you know" I hope I have not lost you! Remember we are still talking about Entrecard. Ok! Shall we move on please!

Some Background

Like I explained in one of my earlier post; Get Backlinks- Way Own Way (Part Four). That Blog commenting is a powerful tools that is second to none in getting backlinks and subsequently traffic to your blog "Which I wrote before the Entrecard partnership with Sezwho".

What is Entrecard?
Such question again? I thought you should know enough about entrecard by now. Oh! no problem read my earilier post on that: "the beautiful world of entrecard"

What is SezWho?
SezWho is an online comments database site that allows you to manage your comments and retain ownership to them no matter where or on which blog you made the comments, it also gives you some level of control over your comments (you can prevent your details from been used for comment spamming by indicating that your comments must be verify by you and SezWho will send you a notification/verification email anytime a comment is detected with your details) and at the same time you get rated for your comments which is a good thing for your online image, as it show the quality of your comments

Entrecard+SezWho: A Sure and Solid Synergy

Now! the good part is that Entrecard has married Sezwho and they are now Husband and Wife, while the new dimentions in blogger interaction and blog commenting in the Blogosphere is the positive result of their marriage. Did I just say "Married? Oh! I know you wanna call it "Partner", that's fine.

This I must tell is a solid synergy which is set to totally revolutionized blogger interaction and blog commenting in the blogoshere. That was even an understatement because, the revolution has already began! Are you a part of it yet? Well, glad to say I'm. After all, for the a good Driver and a wonderful Conductor to make an outstanding trip they needs some understanding and cooperative passengers, got the analogy?

What Next?

If you are already an entrecard member I'm sure this would not be new to you and probably you'll have also joined SezWho, but if you still have not, I think the time is now. Just login into your entrecard account and from your "Dashboard" you'll see a notification as to this effect, it's would be up above your "Quickstats" right above the "Latest buzz" click on it to be redirected to the registration page and the rest is easy and straightforward.

For those that are totally new to this; in order to take the full advantage of this synergy , you have to first join Entrecard and then you can join Sezwho using the above info. You can of course, register for SezWho right from their Homepage but since we're talking in terms of it's partnership with entrecard, why not do it the Entrecard way.

Meanwhile, I know this post inspired some thought in your mind, why not drop them here as comment! See you, on the other side.

Cheers!

Expandable Post (popular as "read more") is a fantastic feature that greatly enhance your blog outlook while keeping your readers engaged right from your blog's front page.

Ok what is this all about?
This is a situation where you display teasers of your blog posts on the front page of your blog with a "read more" link at the bottom of the post's teaser, then when readers want to read the rest of the post, they can click the "read more" link to see that full post.

Blog readers, usually on arriving at your blog, scan through the blog and note those of your post that caught their interest, which they might decides to either read in full immediately or later. If, they find none that's of interest to them, they leave immediately without considering returning to your blog in the future, except if you have some other contents (banners, pictures, videos..etc) that caught their attention.
Many of these people, usually arrived at your blog in the middle of other activities, so they may have very little time to dig deep into your blog. This means that; your best bet of making an impression (which will guarantee their returning to your blog) on them, is your blog's front page.

Why expandable post?

Since you can simply display the 10 or more posts on the front page without the stress of adding the expandable post feature! Yes you can but that will give you a very long front page which might irritate some "if not all" of your visitors and readers, it may also get your front page looking a bit awkward.

Unfortunately, blogger does not have this feature as part of the default customization, but there are many hacks around that you can execute to add the "read more" feature to your blogger blog, there's even a guide on blogger's own help center on how to add this feature. Let's hope that blogger will find a way to also provide this feature as a default customization feature for it's user very soon (watch out for a post on this). Luckily for Wordpress user, the expandable post is a default feature.

For instance, a situation where a person arrived at your blog while searching for an information that is probably in your much more previous post. Now, you have written series of post after that particular post and you only have your last post on your blog's front page, which of course is not relevant to what he/she is searching for. The likelihood of he/she digging deep into your previous posts is very narrow, most of such people will simply close your blog and move on with their search and may not even consider returning to your blog in the future.

However, if you have an expandable post feature in place, where you displayed teasers to your last 10 or more posts with links to the full posts, you can be sure that not only will the reader immediately find what he/she is looking for but, some others of your post to might caught his interest while scanning through your blog, right there on the front page without having to dig so deep into your blog.

Don't let this discourage you as a blogger user, the benefits of this feature is more than what it would take, for you to get it added to your blog. You can just type "expandable post" in google search to find some resources on how to easily go about it.

Alright folks, I'll like hear from you all.

Where you able to add it to your blog? After adding it, how has the experience been? If you had it on your blog before reading this post, do think it has been worthwhile having it on you blog?

Cheers!
